Falcons open season with third place finish

The Falcons opened their 2018 season at the Brookside Invitational in Stockton on Monday afternoon and, despite some shaky scores, managed a respectable third place team finish.  Only the top eight teams from last year's (2017) NorCal Championship were invited to participate, giving FLC coach Barry Zarecky reason for optimism.   Freshmen Brandon Kelly and Max Menconi were the Falcons' low scorers at 3-over-par 73.  "We are looking for improvement at #5 and #6," noted coach Zarecky.  "I think we have the players to do it, they just need to bring it."

The Falcons won't compete again until two weeks from today (Feb 21), when they open Big 8 Conference play at Whitney Oaks in Rocklin.
