The Big 8 leading Falcons were without three key players (Cameron Wall, Jaylen Solich, and Tre Adams) when they faced American River on Friday evening and the lack of bench depth cost the Falcons as they fell to the upset-minded Beavers, 78-71. With two players fouling out, the Falcons were down to just five players to finish the game. The Beavers took full advantage, erasing a 6-point halftime deficit to outscore the Falcons 41-28 in the second half.
Dane Johnson led the Falcons with 21 points and 11 rebounds, Joe Schneider added 14 points, and Kainoa Fidel came off the bench to add 9 points in the loss.
