Somehow, the Delta College men's basketball team keeps finding ways to win games. Despite sitting atop the Big 8 Conference by three games at 12-1, the Mustangs have had few lopsided wins. But they keep winning, even if just by a couple points, as they demonstrated again on Friday night with their 86-81 victory over Folsom Lake. The Falcons nearly toppled Goliath a month ago before losing by one point at Falcon Gym. This time it was a mere 5 points. Still, the sting of losing a win-able game lingered for the Falcons. Sophomore Zethan Dumpson provided a season highlight on Friday night, as he became the first player to score 1,000 career points for the Falcons with his 18-point output against the Mustangs.
The Falcons (9-15 overall, 4-8 in Big 8) will host Sacramento City (5-8 in Big 8) on Tuesday night in Falcon Gym.
