Mendocino spoils Falcons' season opener

The Falcons opened their second season of play with a long road trip to Ukiah, where they lost to Mendocino College on Tuesday night, 83-72.  The bus ride must have had an effect on the Falcons, as they fell behind early and only managed 26 first-half points.  The second half was a different story, though, as they caught fire with 46 points, but it was a case of too little, too late, after allowing the Eagles to build a substantial halftime lead.  The Eagles also  had the long-range touch working, pouring in 17 three pointers.  For the Falcons,  sophomore transfer Matt Lyon led the team with 25 points, while returnees Isiah Maun and Zethan Dumpson chipped in 15 and 13, respectively.

The falcons will look to bounce back on Thursday night, when they travel to Marysville to take on Yuba College at 6:00 pm.
