**Battle in Quincy: Folsom Lake Falcons Face Tough Challenge Against Feather River Golden Eagles**

In an electrifying non-conference clash, the Folsom Lake College Falcons went head-to-head with the Feather River College Golden Eagles in Quincy, CA. With the Falcons enjoying a bye week in the Big 8 conference, this matchup provided a crucial test of their abilities against formidable opposition.

The game commenced with Feather River taking an early lead in the first inning, courtesy of a Shane Danley RBI single, setting a challenging tone for the Falcons. Feather River extended their advantage in the second inning when Andrew Lehmann's three-run homer propelled them to a 4-0 lead.

However, the Falcons refused to succumb to the pressure. In the third inning, Nate Vargas ignited Folsom Lake's offense with a timely RBI single, bringing in Braeden Frank and cutting the deficit to 4-1. Despite their efforts, Feather River added another run in the third inning, increasing their lead to 5-1.

As the game progressed, both teams displayed exceptional defensive prowess, stifling scoring opportunities and keeping the intensity high. Feather River showcased their offensive prowess once again in the sixth inning, with Lehmann's double driving in another run, extending their lead to 6-1.

The Falcons, however, continued to fight. In the seventh inning, Vargas delivered once more, smashing a double to bring Logan Pruski home, injecting hope into Folsom Lake's campaign. Yet, Feather River responded swiftly in the bottom of the seventh, with Jared Stevenson's RBI double extending their lead to 7-2.

Undeterred, the Falcons mounted a late-game rally in the eighth inning. Pruski bravely took one for the team, getting hit by a pitch with the bases loaded, driving in Tyler Allen and narrowing the gap to 7-3. Frank then showcased his sacrifice fly prowess, bringing in Bennie Dyer and trimming the deficit to 7-4.

Despite their valiant effort, the Falcons ultimately fell short, with the Golden Eagles' pitching staff holding firm to secure the victory with a final score of 7-4. While the outcome may not have been in their favor, Folsom Lake College demonstrated resilience and determination, highlighting their competitive spirit as they prepare for future challenges in the Big 8 conference.
