In the series finale on Saturday morning at LA Valley College, the Falcon offense was relegated to 8 singles as they managed to score just one run in a frustrating 3-1 loss to the Monarchs. Freshman starter Hunter Hayes went five-plus innings and was charged with just one run, but the Falcons couldn't put together enough hits to support his effort. All of the Monarchs' runs scored on one swing of the bat, a three-run home run in the sixth inning. With the loss, the Falcons fell to 9-2, still the best start in FLC baseball history. They'll face Mendocino (3-6) on Tuesday afternoon at Falcon Field (the Lake) at 2:00 pm.
