Falcons rally with 7 runs in final two innings

On Saturday, the Falcons fell behind 5-0 after just two innings before tallying three in the third and one in the fourth to trail 5-4 after four.  Over the next three innings, though, the Rams added five more runs to stretch their lead to 10-4, and it looked as though the Falcons were facing their first loss of the season.  But after two quick outs in the seventh inning, the Falcons parlayed three hit batters, two walks, a wild pitch, and two singles into five runs, and suddenly they were back in it at 10-9.  After the Rams added another run in the eighth to make it 11-9, shortstop Kellar Edwards came up with his fourth hit of the game in the bottom of the eighth, a two-run double to right that tied the score.  Edwards promptly stole third and then scored on an infield error for the Falcons' first lead of the game, 12-11.  Sophomore right hander Garrett Kellogg-Clark came on to pitch the ninth and earned the save – after a walk and a single put two runners on with one out – for the Falcons' seventh consecutive win to open the season.
