Sac City's Ryan Costieu threw seven innings of two-hit ball as the Panthers blanked the Falcons on Thursday night at Falcon Field, 11-0. Costieu flustered the Falcon batters all evening with a hopping fastball and kept them off balance with his off-speed pitches. Falcon second baseman James Powers finally broke up the no-no in the seventh inning with a clean single to center field. Meanwhile, the Panther batters banged out 16 hits and worked the Falcon pitchers for six walks. On the bright side, Falcon pitchers recorded 14 strikouts; five by Brad Jones and four by Rick Espinoza, both in just two innings of relief.
The Falcons will wrap up the 2019 season with a 6:00 pm game at Sac City's Union Stadium on Friday night.
