Sierra shuts down Falcons' offense

Playing a home game at Falcon Field ('the Lake') for just the second time in 30 games in 2019, the FLC baseball team got banged up by Sierra on Tuesday afternoon, 11-1.  The Wolverines pounded out 14 hits - including five for extra bases - while their starting pitcher (Austin Loeb) was twirling a two-hit, one-run game.  The 25+ mph winds wrecked havoc on the Falcon outfielders to the tune of three errors and, combined with three infield throwing errors, aided the Wolverines with five unearned runs.  Still, the story was Loeb, who kept the Falcons off-balance all afternoon.

The teams will meet again on Thursday in Rocklin, then play their finale on Friday at FLC at 1:30 pm.
