Pitching, defense falter in loss to Delta

After a week off from games, the FLC baseball team opened their three game series with state #1 ranked Delta College on Tuesday afternoon in Stockton but came up on the short end of a 16-7 score.  The Falcons actually outhit the Mustangs (14-12), but pitching and defense were the culprits in the loss as Falcon pitchers issued eight walks while the defense committed five errors.  First baseman Clayton Borges put the Falcons on top early with his first inning three-run home run, but that lead dissolved when the Mustangs put a 7 on the scoreboard in the fourth inning, then added six more runs in the sixth inning.  Falcon third baseman Anthony Mislinski had an RBI double in the seventh and was one of five Falcons to tally two hits.

The teams will meet again on Thursday in Stockton, this time with the Falcons as home team due to wet conditions at Falcon Field ("the Lake").
