Falcons' pitching falters in loss to CRC

The Folsom Lake baseball team has relied on solid starting pitching to get to 12 wins thus far in 2019, but it was the pitching that let them down on Thursday afternoon at Cosumnes River, where the Hawks prevailed, 11-7.  Starter Andrew Vaughn, who in five previous starts had allowed just three earned runs, gave up seven runs on five hits and five walks in two innings.  Behind 9-0 after three innings, the Falcons rallied to close it to 10-7 with two runs in the fifth - off solo homers by Isaiah Laissade and Braeden Hollidayand five more in the seventh.   In the seventh, the Falcons managed just one hit but plated five runs with the help of four hit batters, a walk, and a wild pitch.  With the offense limited to four hits over nine innings, the Falcons would not get any closer as the Hawks took game one of the series.
