Falcons clobber Contra Costa again

On Friday, the Falcons returned to the scene of the wipeout and delivered another knockout with a 6-run 3rd inning as they easily defeated the Comets, 15-5.  With 17 hits on Friday, the Falcons raised their team batting average to .283 while winning their 4th consecutive game.  First baseman Clayton Borges and second baseman Zack Reyes each had three hits, while Alex Schroeder, Anthony Mislinski, Borges, and Reyes all collected 3 RBI apiece.  Freshman starting pitcher Trevor Johnson went six innings to get the win, giving up just one earned run on 4 hits to run his record to 4-0.

The win was the Falcons' tenth of the season against just four losses, but even more remarkable is the fact that the Falcons have earned that record with all 14 games being played on the road!  With another week of wet weather ahead, it's beginning to look like Falcon Field will not be playable until at least mid/late March.  They are scheduled to begin Big 8 Conference play this week with all three games at American River.
