Falcons defeat DVC in final home game of 2017
The FLC baseball season has had its share of rough stretches, but the Falcons appear to be finishing 2017 on an upward trend as they won their second straight game over Diablo Valley College on Thursday afternoon, taking a narrow 5-4 victory at Falcon Field on Sophomore Recognition Day.
Falcon starter Brandon Bachman picked up the win by pitching into the eighth inning while allowing just three earned runs before handing the ball over to Shane Gustafson. Rightfielder Carson McCusker was the offensive star for the Falcons with a double, a triple, and three RBI. Center fielder Jacob Jones broke a 4-4 tie with his RBI single that scored Aidan Malm with two outs in the seventh inning.
The Falcons will conclude their 2017 season today with a 2:30 game at Diablo Valley College.
