Baseballs' hot April continues; final home game next

The FLC baseball team continue their recent string of April wins with a 7-3 victory over Solano College on Saturday at Falcon Field.  Freshman Tanner Clark made his first start for the Falcons and pitched into the fifth inning, leaving with two on and one out and a 4-1 lead.  The two runners eventually scored on a hit and an error, but those would be the last runs Solano would get.  Left fielder Greg Vaughn paced FLC's offense with three hits, including a triple, and scored two runs.  The Falcons picked up three more runs in the seventh with four hits including an RBI single by Mason Allen,  a safety squeeze bunt by Joey Smith,  and a sacrifice fly Tyler Kaim.

"We're starting to play the way we expect to," noted coach Rich Gregory.  "We're doing the little things that make the difference between winning and losing."

The Falcons improved to 14-5 in the Bay Valley Conference, two games behind leader Laney College but just one-half game behind Los Medanos with five to play.  Tuesday's game with Yuba will be the Falcons' final home game of the regular season.
