Baseball Drops One To Yuba

They say errors are contagious.  If that's true, the FLC baseball team may need antibiotics.  After committing nine errors in Tuesday's win over Yuba, the Falcons booted four more in last night's game at Falcon Field, but this time came up on the short end of the 8-1 final score.  Five unearned runs scored in the fifth inning after a sinking line drive – the potential third out of the inning - was lost in the low setting sun for a 3-base error.  Combine that with the Falcons' inability to produce offensively with runners on third and less than two outs, and the results weren't good.  Regular centerfielder Michael Majeski made his first pitching start of the season, but was victimized by the errors while only allowing one earned run.  Offensively, the Falcons were led by Nick Schumacher's perfect night at the plate (4 for 4, all singles) and Mychal Lee's two hits (single, RBI double).

The Falcons (12-8 overall, 4-4 in BVC) hope to rebound with a win on Saturday when they host Mendocino College at Falcon Field at 1:00pm.
