Men's and women's soccer headed to CCCAA state playoffs

The Folsom Lake College soccer stadium will be a busy site starting Saturday, November 17, with both the women's and men's soccer teams earning high seeds for the CCCAA state playoffs and guaranteed of hosting home matches.

The women, at 16-4-1, earned the #2 seed in northern California and will play at home as long as they keep winning.  They'll open with the winner of a play-in match between Los Medanos (11-5-3) and Diablo Valley (11-8-1) on Saturday afternoon at 3:00 pm.  With a Saturday win, the second round would be on Tuesday, November 20 and would pit the Falcons against the winner of #7 seed Delta (17-3-2) or #10 seed Cañada (12-6-1).  For the complete brackets, go here:  http://cccaasports.org/sports/wsoc/2018-19/files/NorCalW.pdf

Meanwhile, the Falcon men earned a #4 seed by virtue of their 16-2-3 record and will face Lake Tahoe (12-7-2) in the opening round on Saturday night at 6:00 pm.  The Falcons previously defeated the Coyotes, 2-0, in South Tahoe back in September.  A win in the opening round would then set up a second round match with either #5 seed Delta (Big 8 co-champions at 14-2-4) or #12 seed Skyline (11-5-2) on either Tuesday or Wednesday (Nov 20 or 21).  The men's complete brackets can be found here:  http://cccaasports.org/sports/msoc/2018-19/files/NorCalM.pdf
